The Future of Robots in Education

an international event in partnership with Wikifactory

February 17, 2020

Learning how to make your own robot is quite likely to be one of the most engaging and didactic experiences for kids and adults of our current times.

With the future of work demanding creative and critical thinking from the next generation, there is a wealth of opportunities for parents and children to learn about robotics, coding, and fabrication technologies. Whilst institutions and academic organisations struggling to adopt programes or prepare training for teaching these new subjects, open source design and hardware plays a role to bridge the gap!

The proof is in the Educational Robots projects that we see on Wikifactory and in the greater world wide web. We wanted to recognize this active area of Wikifactory and especially the Otto DIY community for joining us when we were in Alpha and for their contributions to open source.

That's why we have invited the founder of Otto DIY, Camilo Parra to Madrid for a chance to gather together as practitioners, experts and Robot makers!

The afternoon of Saturday, February 22nd will be dedicated to the Future of Robots in Education in Madrid, with:

  • An exposition of Robotics projects

  • Practical Workshops

  • Keynote Panel of experts, for a unique chance to hear their vision of the future

The event will be free to the public and hosted in Central Madrid. Exact location TBC.

The event will be hosted in both Spanish and English.
